Firstly congratulations to Worksop YFC who claimed the Quiz trophy at the beginning of March, with the final being set by David Brown (of The Dovecote Inn, Laxton fame!) it saw Worksop go head to head with Tuxford. Worksop seemed to have a nose for a good smell and just pipped Tuxford to the title after the ‘smell’ round.
Well done to all the members who competing in Skegness; Jack Tooley, Megan Afford, Daisy Haigh, Collingham YFC Radio Show Live team, Tuxford YFC Volleyball team, and a Notts Frisbee team. Massive congratulations to Megan Afford who won the Junior Member of the Year competition and will go on to represent East Midlands Area at the National finals in July-Good Luck Meg, we’re very proud you’re one of ours!!
Last weekend also saw the first every YFC Bike Trails competition take place at Top Farm, Papplewick by kind permission of the Cundy Family. A few wet feet and muddy faces later and i think all the competitors would say they had a fun time, it’s great to have a new exciting competition in the programme-same time next year?
Well done to junior winner Ross Walker, Papplewick YFC and James Watkins senior winner of Worksop YFC.
Many thanks to all those who helped steward; Cheryl, Jill, Mark and Ashley and to John and Jules for hosting and organising the event.
The County Show is taking up much of the clubs and the YFC office’s time, but we’re also planning the Farm Walk Quiz (26th May) Clay Shoot (5th June) Tractor Run (12th June) and the County Rally (18th June) plus keep your eyes peeled for details on an event for 9th July 2016!!!
