Four Nottinghamshire farming charities scooped a shared pot of £3,500 following a fundraising lunch at the Newark Showground.
The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (R.A.B.I), Nottinghamshire Young Farmers, Nottinghamshire Rural Support and the Newark & Nottinghamshire Agricultural Society joined forces to raise both awareness and funds at the charities lunch in the Cedric Ford Pavilion.
More than 120 guests enjoyed a three-course lamb lunch and guest speaker was Mark Spencer MP for Sherwood. Mr Spencer studied at the Shuttleworth Agricultural College in Bedfordshire before joining the family farm business in Nottinghamshire, he was an active member of YFC, becoming National Federation of Young Farmers Chairman.
Adrian Johnston, CEO of the County Showground, said: “We are delighted to raise so much money for these four worthy causes, who do a great deal of good for the rural community of our county.”
