The weekend saw YFC members from across the county come together to compete in sixteen different activities at the Annual County Rally.
With just under 200 entries, Broomhill Grange, Edwinstowe was a hive of activity at 10am on Saturday morning, with teams gathering to start the nature trail.
Other activities on the day included Giant Tractor Spot the difference, Welly Darts, Car Pull, Egg Catching, Human Stock judging (!), Tug of War, Driver challenge, the cook challenge, Bale relay, pallet re-cycling and the great water race.
Although it hadn’t stopped raining since Friday evening, it didn’t dampen the spirits of the members, with most competitions happening under cover.
A special well done to Cropwell Young Farmers, who re-launched in September, and had many entries and placings during the day, Megan and Bradie put on a fine display to win the NFYFC Cook Challenge.
Trophies were presented by hosts Robert and Jane Bealby. The JS Dakin for Junior Classes was won by Tuxford, runners up were Cropwell and 3rd place Collingham. The Boots Senior Trophy for overall highest scoring club was presented to Worksop, 2nd place Tuxford and 3rd place Collingham.
The Southwell Special Activity for combined scores in the water race and cook challenge went to Collingham, with joint runners up Caunton and Cropwell.
The Senior Nature Trail was won by Charles Wagstaff & Matt Burgess of Worksop and the Junior Nature Trail was won by Liam Goddard & Ben Beckitt of Tuxford.
Thank you to Marsh’s for supplying the two Claas tractors for Giant spot the difference, B&B Tractors for the loan of a Manitou for the driver challenge and Fisher German for sponsorship.
All would not have been possible without the generosity of the Bealby family for kindly handing over their farm for the weekend-thank you very much.
The evening ended partying away in the barn, with a YFC bar and DJ.
