A night of awards at County Ball

Back in January, Notts YFC hosted a black tie Ball, at Colwick Hall Hotel for over 220 guests. Following a Pie & Mash dinner the winners of three of YFC prestigious awards were crowned.

The member of the year was a closely fought battle between three committed senior members, but, was won by Worksop Member Ed Woolhouse, who was presented with the Barbara Taylor Trophy & Champagne. Runners up were County Chairman, Jo Turvey and Jem Hill, County Show Chairman.

Mr YFC  was a battle of the northern clubs and with the competition kindly being sponsored by Southwell Racecourse, the competition was fierce. The title went to 20 year Tuxford member, Will Hill, runner up was Matt Burgess, 20 of Worksop YFC and fellow club member Ben Theaker, also 20 in 3rd place.

The final award of the evening was presented to Miss Nottinghamshire Young Farmer, all the girls showed they are enthusiastic about the organisation, and have taken part in a variety of YFC roles and activities. The winner was 22 year old, Caunton member Alice Beckett, who won vouchers from Southwell Racecourse & Champagne. Runner up was Harriet Dench, 21, of Lowdham YFC and 3rd place was Worksop member, Fran Walker, 22. They all received flowers kindly donated by the President and his wife.

Well done to all the winners and runners up, a great team of advocates for YFC.

Thank you to Sponsors; Savills & Southwell Racecourse
