On Saturday we celebrated 80 years of Nottinghamshire Federation of Young Farmers Clubs at our 80th Anniversary Ball! What an incredible celebration it was!
It was wonderful to see so many members past and present coming together to celebrate what makes Nottinghamshire YFC so special.
We were honoured to welcome Professor Veronica Pickering OBE MBS HAC, Lord Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire, who gave a powerful speech, thanking Nottinghamshire Young Farmers Clubs for their work over the last 80 years. The Lord Lieutenant expressed that the young farmers are ‘custodians of our future, our history and our land’ and asked the young farmers ‘to champion the work we need you to do’. The Lord Lieutenant was joined by Deputy Lieutenants Alison Bingham Crabb and Tracey Davenport.
The Rt Hon Sir Mark Spencer gave the welcome address and introduced the guest speakers. As a previous NFYFC Chair and Notts YFC Chair, Sir Mark Spencer has given many years of dedicated service to the Young Farmers organisation. The Rt Hon Sir Mark Spencer was pleased to introduce Jessica Rose, current NFYFC Chair, who has previously been both Notts YFC Chair and member of Tuxford YFC.
Thank you to all the local businesses and organisations who supported the evening by sponsoring the event, providing food donations and flowers, decorations, raffle prizes and auction lots. We have been overwhelmed by your support. We will be following up with thank you posts on our social media channels over the coming weeks and will provide updates on the funds raised.
A huge thank you goes to the Notts YFC 80th Anniversary Ball Committee for organising such a wonderful event – you did an amazing job!

Thank you to everyone who came along and made the evening such a success. From looking through photos and memorabilia, eating delicious food, to dancing the night away to Crazy Ape and DJ Channing, it was a night to remember. Special thanks also go to Mike the Magician who worked tirelessly wowing tables with his magic tricks to raise funds for the Notts and Lincs Air Ambulance.
Here’s to the next 80 years of Notts YFC!
