YFC to jointly host the first ever “FARMERS DAY”

It was an exciting meeting that happened in the spring, when YFC, RABI and Southwell Racecourse joined forces to bring to you the first ever “Farmers Day”, it’s due to take place on Monday 9th November, at the Racecourse.

Mark Clayton, Racecourse General Manager, was keen to work with the two charities. “We take great pride in our renewed position in the heart of the Nottinghamshire rural community, and working with both the RABI and Notts Young Farmers we are looking forward to giving something back to these much deserved causes. With the support of the local community the day cannot fail to be a success.”

Lauren Clark , Development Officer at Notts Young Farmers commented “What better way to support two rural charities than to come for a day out racing, in the lovely setting of Southwell Racecourse, we thank them for supporting YFC in this way and hope that we can build on the event for the future“

R.A.B.I. East Midlands regional manager Milly Fyfe commented that ‘ The Nottinghamshire branch of the R.A.B.I. are grateful to Southwell Race course for choosing to support the charity as part of the first Farmers day’. ‘We are encouraging members of the rural and farming community from across the country to join in with a day at the races, which in turn will help to raise funds to support our vital work.’

As for the day itself, it is a National Hunt fixture which will consist of seven races and at this stage the start time is 12.30pm.
